I undertook a project for the company "I F*cking Love Science," where the task at hand was to create a series of engaging videos for their TikTok channel. The video content needed to be sourced from relevant stock footage, but the more intricate aspect of the project was the dynamic captioning system.
The primary challenge was to design and animate a caption background that would scale and appear synchronously with the text. To add to the complexity, the caption text was required to be created as a template, allowing for easy replacement of words for each video without necessitating reanimation of the text. This feature was to streamline the video production process, enabling the efficient creation of multiple videos with varying content but a consistent caption style.
To successfully implement this, I utilized a combination of built-in effects and custom coded expressions. This approach allowed for the creation of a flexible and responsive caption system that could adapt to different text lengths and timings.
